Q: What is the web site for Huaxia Chinese School of New York On-Line Registration System (OLRS)?
A: The web site address is https://reg.hxcsny.org. You can also get to this site by going through the School’s home page http://www.hxcsny.org, click on HXNY ORLS 线上注册系统 on lefthand side menu.
Q: What are the courses offered to children and when can I register my children?
A: Visit the School home web site, click on Online Registration, you can check on Language Classes, Culture Classes, and Culture Class Description for eligibility. The system is officially opened to currently enrolled families to register their children on June 15, 2008. The system will be opened up to new families to register classes on 07/11/2008.
Q: My son is currently enrolled in grade 2 class 1, but there are three grade 3 classes, which one shall I choose?
A: The school policy is that the current Grade 2 Class 1 student can only register for Grade 3 Class 1 language class, etc. Failure to do so may result in extra work of manual adjustment by school staff, additional service charge, and delay of your child’s registration.
Q: We are new to this area and would like to attend your School. How do I go about?
A: First thing first, you need to create an account on the system and enter all your family and personal information including contact, guardian, student, and grade level information. Once we receive your application information, the School will process the request and contact you for an interview if need to determine the proper grade level for a child. When your admission is accepted, we will notify you. You then can come back into the on-line registration system to register classes. To create an account, go to https://reg.hxcsny.org and click on “建立新帐号” or Create new account for first time user.
Q: What are the adult courses offered to adults and when can I register?
A: Currently adult courses are being arranged. You can have a preview of adult courses by clicking on the “Courses” button on menu bar in the system. Adult class registration will be opened in August/September. Please check on the School web site on announcement.
Q: What is my user name and password to sign into the system?
A: The user name is your email address that was used to create the family account. You can retrieve your password from the OLRS. If you can not receive the auto-reply information, please email your request to hxny.info@gamil.com. We will attempt to send out that message to you via email as soon as we can.
Q: What does the system look like and how do things work in the system?
A: There are documents, PowerPoint presentation slide and Instruction, placed on the School’s home page. Please take a minute to view these documents to help you get started.
Q: My family/personal information (name, address, phone number, and so on) is wrong, Please correct them for me.
A: You have the full authority to update your family/personal information in the system. You can also add a new student (child or adult) into the system under your family account. View the PowerPoint slide show to see how to do it. It is important to keep all these information up-to-date so our communication to you is never delayed.
Q: My account ID is an email address that I do not use any longer. Can I change to a different email address? Can I also change my password?
A: The system can hold up to two email addresses. The main one is also your user ID. Use “Edit Login Info” button to change it. You can follow the instruction in the PowerPoint slides to change your email address/User ID and password. The second email address is maintained in “Edit Family Info” button. You can also change it.
Q: How do I enroll classes for a student?
A: Only a person is added as a “Student” can enroll classes. This includes children and adults.
To enroll classes, click on “Register Class” button then “I Accept” to accept the School rules and policies. Pick a student from the list. Pick a School Year (Such as 08-09 School Year) or a School Semester (08 Fall). School Year is used for children classes because the fees are based on the entire school year. School Semester is used on adult classes because the fees are based on each semester.
You must select 08-09 year (not 2008 Fall one that’s for Adult in Sept registration) for a child student, then class type, then class, strictly in that order, and wait for the menu to be refreshed in each step. If anything went wrong, restart from far left. Sometimes you may have to select a wrong one then select the right one again to force it refresh:
On language classes, there are 2-hour and 3-hour classes. The 3-hour classes are only applicable to K grade (Kindergarten). All the rest are 2-hour classes. After you complete the language class, move to the next row, to continue your selection on children culture class.
When you are done with the enrollment, click on the “Submit” button to complete the registration enrollment. The system will provide you with receipt Number.
Q: How do I submit payment?
A: Once an enrollment is successfully processed, please print out receipt and following the instruction to submit payment. Currently you postal-office mail the receipt and check to the address shown on the receipt. A registration is considered completed when the payment is successfully posted.
Q: How do I know if the check has been posted?
A: Click on “Account Balance” to view your account balance information.
Q: How do I change my selection of classes after enrollment?
A: You can still change classes as long as the registration is in pending status. In another when a payment is not yet posted to the system, you can still change classes on-line. However if the payment has been posted already, you need to contact school official to do the work. Whether changes can be made or not depends on availability.
To change class selection, click in the “X” to remove a selected class. Use the same method listed in “How do I enroll classes for a student?” when you enroll a class for a student to select anther class.
Q: How come I can not enroll my child into a class?
A: There can be several reasons for not being able to register your child into a class. The followings are some of the possibilities:
