HuaXia Chinese School Rules and Regulations

The goal of school rules is: (1) to help students learn to make responsible choices, and (2) to insure a safe and appropriate learning environment.

The following rules are always in effect.

  1. The school hours are between 9:30am-12:30pm every Sunday as published. Students should attend the class as scheduled. Any absence should be reported to the school and the teacher. Students should explain to his or her teacher in case of being late or need to leave early.
  2. Students are expected to be in their desk with the required materials when class starts. They should pay attention, listen, and not disturb their classmates. They are expected to raise their hand and wait for permission to speak or leave their seat.
  3. Students should speak quietly and walk in an orderly manner inside the school building. Shouting, yelling and running in the hallways are not permitted
  4. Students should respect others at all time. They should use appropriate language at all times. Obscene or profane language will not be tolerated.
  5. While in class, students should not eat (including chewing gum) or drink (except for the preschoolers).
  6. Students should respect school and personal property and treat them with care. They are not allowed to use any equipment that is not authorized and supervised.
  7. Students should dress themselves properly.
  8. Students should keep the school clean and tidy and be mindful of their own safety.
  9. Students should finish their homework on time. They should take all the tests given by the school or teachers.
  10. Students should report any mistreatment from others to the teacher in stead of taking matter into their own hands.

CONSEQUENCES

If a student chooses to break a school rule, to not accept his/her responsibilities, or to infringe on the rights of others, there will be sequence of consequences.

LEVEL ONE (Intervention)

If a student violates a rule, he/she will be informed that their behavior(s) is inappropriate and a consequence will be selected for the behavior, such as; denial of a privilege, time out, loss of recess, or detention (removal from the classroom) as determined by the supervising adult. Written notification will be sent to the parents.

LEVEL TWO (Notification)

If teacher/staff interventions do not remediate the inappropriate behavior(s), the student
will be re-issued a written notification (conduct referral form) with copies sent to the classroom teacher and parents. Parents will be asked to acknowledge receipt by
signing and returning the form to the office the following school day so that he/she will be accepted by the classroom teacher.

LEVEL THREE (Principal/Parent Communications)

If a student accumulates three Conduct Referrals, his/her parents will be expected to
meet with the principal and teacher to discuss the inappropriate behavior(s) and set goals for future positive behavior and/or possible consequences.

BEYOND LEVEL THREE

If school and parent interventions are not effective, the student may be suspended or expelled from school.

In our discipline system, desired behavior will be actively encouraged. We will continue to emphasize the recognition and positive reinforcement of exemplary behavior. It is our hope that you will discuss this discipline plan with your children and emphasize the need for the development of self-discipline based on conscious decision making. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to call the school.
