This course is designed to help students sharpen their Math concepts. Everyone knows how to add and multiply, but what are the tricks to do them faster and accurately? We will learn and practice in class, and much more.
Teaching content:
We will use “Olympic Math” by Li Yong Guao (head coach of the China math Olympic team).
Starting with the 4th grade book. I plan to cover one or two topics in each class. If students can keep up, I will continue with the 5th and 6th grade books.
If most students can not follow, I will slow down and make sure most students can learn something every class.
Teaching format:
1. teach concept and strategies to solve math problems.
2. in class practice using lots of examples.
Student requirement:
All work will be done in class. No homework.
